1. Tell us about your life journey, Swapnil?
Born and brought up and learnt in a typical middle-class family from Kolhapur. Started working at the age of 19 in Pharmaceutical Sales.
Being an external graduate student, I started off earning and learning at the same time. With the urge of doing something more in academics, appeared for MBA MHCET and scored well and got enrolled on MIT School of Management, one of the most renowned colleges in Pune.
Continuing to keep up with my academic performance, I had to zero down my focus on my MBA Degree. To do so, I quit my job.
A job that paid me handsomely and did my MBA delicately.
Post my MBA, I was eligible enough to grab a job in Radio Mirchi, one of the too-most tuned radio stations, and later tried my hand at their advertising and marketing as well.
Now, during this experience of marketing, was the time when I came across the terms of SEO and Digital Marketing. That’s what spiked my interest and further encouraged me to pursue some Online and offline courses and workshops 7 years ago.
Post that, with enough work and experience, I was able to seize a life-changing opportunity to work for one of the largest hospital chains in Maharashtra, Sahyadri Hospitals.
One thing my journey had taught me, was to share my knowledge with as many people as I could. That’s what brought me into the teaching field.
Since then, I have educated and taught 4000+ students in multiple Business Schools as well as Digital Marketing Institutions.
Today along with my MBA MIT Degree, I also hold a degree of Management Development Program(MDP) from IIM Bangalore.

2. Digital marketing is evolving every day. What according to you is the future of digital marketing?
There is nothing permanent in the world. Change is the only constant thing in the world! Businesses are changing around the world after the Corona Pandemic. Today an IT company is making sanitisers and a car company is making ventilators.
In terms of careers, the young class and students who chose only a few years ago, engineer or doctor, are now marking a whole new field in a changing world. Digital marketing is one of them.
We are living in an era where the internet has no barriers.
A 10-year-old and a 65-year-old, 2 distinct generations have mobiles and the internet at their disposal.
Currently, there is 55% internet penetration in the country. Meaning, in India around 65 cr people are using the internet and this will only grow with the tick of time. Eventually, a good 100 cr people will be using the internet with very high-speed internet as 5g at our doorstep
So, in order to reach out to all those people, Digital Marketing will be the easiest and cheapest means there is.
Digital marketing seeks to overtake the marketing that has been going on for years by wearing a typical formal dress, tie, & boots and meeting the customer in person. The reasons for this are the same.
For those who can handle a basic computer and have a passion and curiosity for the internet, digital marketing can be a great opportunity.

3. Can you share some examples/case studies of how organizations adapted digital marketing in pre and post covid scenarios?
To be honest, the pandemic has been very fruitful to Digital Marketing.
The adoption of Digital Marketing was already in existence pre-pandemic, it’s just that, the pandemic has literally accelerated the awareness and use of it in a mere period of 7-8 months.
Since the lockdown was issued and there was no option but to Work from home, the expenses, the day to day expenses of individuals as well as organizations (all their administrational cost) was not just cut short but entirely eliminated. This left with some good margins of profits in hand.
Work from Home rather, Remote working has now become a mandate of one and all’s lives. It does not just work from home, it’s Work from Anywhere!
There is no field left unturned which has gone online or virtual or which has access to remote working. Beginning from IT to medicine to even schools, every field there has gone virtual.
This has not only flourished Freelancers but has even diversified the fields of work. IT companies have started making sanitisers, car companies made ventilators, and street food vendors started selling masks. What a turning point and modification of businesses!

4. What do you think entrepreneurs, marketing professionals, and students must know about Digital Marketing?
As I stated earlier, change is inevitable. What you’re learning right now, is obviously going to get outdated in the span of time. The scenario has entirely flipped today. We live in a time where becoming Doctors and Engineers are not the only fields left.
There are multiple fields in one field; hence expanding the scope of opportunities for one and all.
Digital marketing is one such field. The Pandemic has rather spiked the need for being digital. Something that one used to do in their free time or just to pass time, has now become a new pool of opportunities.
This is one such domain, where one doesn’t need any formal education. All you need is the basic knowledge of a computer, follow and keep up with the latest trends going around, and you’re good to go.

5. What mistakes newbies must avoid when starting with digital marketing?
When speaking of mistakes, the only mantra that needs to be embedded is – “nothing is easy”. Life is not a cakewalk, and neither is a career. There is always going to be competition. Competition is inevitable for everyone.
The key to all is patience and the realization that a cabin and a six-figure salary are not earned overnight. There is hard work behind it all. Hard work will get you to your mastery.
Choose a niche, and stick to it. Do not be a floater, an experiment with everything that there is. That is only going to increase your confusion, and divert you from your aim.
Learn right and from the right source and people.
