Q. Tell us about your life journey, Aleks?

I used to live in several countries and dozens of cities. 

I love to travel, to move to another country and live there for a year or more. That’s how I learn foreign languages. 

I’ve been in marketing since 2009, and then I dug into video marketing. In 2014 I realized that video is a rocket tool for business.

Q. What prompted you to take up Digital Video Marketing domain?

I love what I do and I do what I love – that’s my motto in video marketing.

I’m on my way to grow my small video marketing agency, as for now we’re only 3 specialists, Me as a video marketing expert, my project manager, and video montage specialist.

But I’ve already raised my agency to the top-rated level on Upwork.

Q. Tell us about your learnings regarding Digital Video Marketing?

I’ve attended many workshops & conferences regarding digital video marketing. I’ve finished a few online courses as well.

Nowadays video as a type of content is growing fast and that’s why any entrepreneur and especially marketers have to be in touch with this industry.

Q. What challenges you face in your work and what keeps you going?  

The core thing is that YouTube is developing its platform almost every day and the great challenge is to be up to date. 

But I love to be a part of the video marketing strategy of my clients, no matter what I do: editing scripts, setting up youtube ads or working around SEO & optimizing youtube channels/playlists/videos.

Q. What tips you’d like to give to someone who is a newbie to Digital Videos? 

 I’ve worked with dozen of channels and that’s why I have 3 main tips to newbies:

–> no matter where you are in your journey with a video marketing strategy, the first step is to work with scripts.

In most cases, scripts are the most important part of your video content. Even hardware (cameras, microphones) could suck, but scripts and ideas you want to deliver through the video are the most important part;

–> next big part is a content sharing policy and how you spread your content through the web;

–> finally, video marketing strategy has to be up to date and be flexible. It’s important to check the main goals and results every 4-6 months. 

Video platforms are changing strong nowadays and video marketers have to follow new features and updates in the industry on a weekly basis.
